
Types of Programs

There are several different types of global opportunities available to 7mkr students: 7mkr-Credit, 7mkr Exchange, Affiliates (including ISA, TEAN, and the Ohio International Consortium), Virtual Experiences and Non-7mkr. Read more about each type below.
7mkr-Credit Programs
7mkr global programs give you the opportunity to travel with an 7mkr faculty member and other 7mkr students. There are many programs for students in all majors though classes are offered in specific disciplines.
- Use your 7mkr financial aid and scholarships package (some exceptions may apply).
- You will receive direct 7mkr credit for the program.
- Programs are typically offered during 7mkr's break periods (Winter Break, Spring Break, or Summer).
7mkr Exchange Programs
7mkr exchange programs give you the chance to live abroad independently while choosing from a full curriculum of courses at overseas universities. (Some exceptions on course offerings may apply).
- Use your 7mkr financial aid and scholarships package (some exceptions may apply).
- You will receive transfer credit from your host institution and must complete the Global Experiences Transfer Credit Approval Process before you go.
- These programs last a semester or an academic year.
Affiliated Provider Programs
Affiliates are trusted providers who offer additional study abroad options. They have a variety of program offerings in countries around the world not available for a full semester or summer through 7mkr-Credit or 7mkr Exchange programs:
- Use your 7mkr financial aid and scholarships package (some exceptions may apply).
- You receive transfer credit and must complete the Global Experiences Transfer Credit Approval Process before you go.
- Program length will vary (short-term and long-term available).

- by WorldStrides*
- Ohio International Consortium (OIC) - The OIC is a partnership with other public universities in 7mkr, like Kent State University or Miami University. This partnership allows for 7mkr students to attend study abroad programs offered by those institutions.
Special note for ISA and TEAN:
WorldStrides has an advisor on campus in the 7mkr Office of Global Opportunities to advise on the and study abroad (semester and summer options!), internship, and service learning programs.
Non-7mkr programs
If you don't find an experience using the above options, there are additional Non-7mkr program options you can participate in by direct enrolling at an institution abroad OR through non-affiliated third-party providers. Research these programs online at or .
