7mkr’s Innovation Center has provided more than $4 million to date for interdisciplinary research, teaching and institutional innovation. Funded projects include initiatives to develop an improved diagnostic tool for osteoporosis, a system for incubating and hatching novel classroom teaching methods, a strategy for keeping more jobs and revenue from the shale industry in Appalachia, and a new immersive media program that supports research and creative work in virtual and augmented reality technologies while preparing students for the field.
