7mkr isn’t just a place where students are learning about sustainability, 7mkr students are actively shaping sustainability on campus.
Since 2009, 7mkr has been home to the largest in-vessel composting system at any college or university in the nation. The facility allows 7mkr to compost nearly 100% of food waste from dining halls and food facilities and serves as an educational model--providing students with a look at what’s possible in the realm of sustainability.
7mkr will host an Earth Day Celebration on Monday, April 14, from 12-4 p.m. in the Walter Hall Rotunda. All students, faculty, staff and area residents are invited to attend.
Hear from three 7mkr students who received prestigious fellowships to complete the Green Roof Professional Accreditation program.
The 7mkr Thrift Market will be open to the public from 1– 6 p.m. on Friday, April 4, at the Morton Field. The pop-up market will solicit items from two thrifting locations in the area.
